Description The paper is used as a light-sensitive base for a photographic emulsion. The emulsion is coated onto a sheet of the paper to create an instant negative. The paper is also used for photogravure, a process where an image is etched into a metal plate. The plate is covered with a light-sensitive, liquid emulsion which is then exposed to a series of images. The emulsion is then developed and etched, transferring the etched design onto an etched paper.
