Overview COMESA (Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa) is a Customs Union composed by Egypt, Libya, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Tunisia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Sudan, Madagascar, Ethiopia, Uganda, Mauritius, Eswatini, Rwanda, Malawi, Seychelles, Eritrea, Somalia, Djibouti, Burundi, and Comoros. In 2022, COMESA exported $199B (0.84% of global exports) and imported $266B (1.12% of global imports). Its largest exporter, Egypt exported $53.9B, which corresponds to 27.1% of the total exports. On the other hand, the largest importer, Egypt, imported $95.7B, which is 35.9% of the total imports of Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa.
