Description Lubricant preparations are used in a variety of ways, but mainly to reduce friction. These preparations are made by mixing lubricants with other substances such as solvents, soaps, and detergents. Cutting-oil preparations are used in metalworking to prevent the metal from sticking to the cutting tool. Bolt or nut release preparations are used to release fasteners such as bolts and nuts. Anti-rust or anti-corrosion preparations are used to inhibit rusting and corrosion. Mould-release preparations are used to prevent surfaces from sticking to moulds in the manufacture of plastics. Textile lubricant preparations are used to make textile materials such as cotton, wool, and silk more durable. They are often used in clothing manufacturing. Preparations of a kind used for the oil or grease treatment of textile materials, leather, furskins or other materials (excl. preparations containing, as basic constituents, >= 70% petroleum oil or bituminous mineral oil by weight) are also used for these purposes.
