Description Snow-skis are flat, long, and narrow boards with a smooth bottom that are used in making long, slide-like movements across snow. Skis are attached to boots with bindings that secure them to the boot. The binding is a metal clamp which clamps the boot to the ski to prevent the boot from slipping off. A metal or rubber rope is also attached to the binding to help the skier to ski up hills.
